Father Abdelmalek migrated with his young family from Egypt to Sydney, NSW in 1994. He was ordained a priest for Perth, WA in 1996 and was later promoted to Senior Priest in 2016.
He has more than 40 years of professional experience in many fields, including the Oil and Gas industry and Christian Ministry. This gave him great exposure and skills in leadership and management. Relying on the grace of God, he helped in coaching and counselling many people in human relations and leadership development.
He is the president of the Coptic Orthodox Church of WA, founder and chairman of St Mary’s Outreach Service (SMOS), and Anba Abram village (AAV), co-founder and chairman of Bible Geoscience Group (BGG), co-founder and member of Association of Heads of Churches of WA (WAHOC), a vice-president of Council of Churches of WA (CCWA), vice-chairman of Australian Christian Heritage Initiative (ACHI), coordinator of Oriental Orthodox Churches in WA, and member of the advisory board of WA Family Voice.
He received his degree in Geology in 1982 and in Theology in 1990 and is now one of the pioneers in the field of Biblical Geo-anthropology with more than three volumes. He is an author of many technical papers, reports and books, with more than 60 publications in philosophy, theology, science and literature.
He has and is currently participating in the Ecumenical Movement in WA, Australia and Internationally at both the grass-roots and leadership levels with a special interest in the relationship between the orthodox families.
