What can I expect from the Virtual Experience?Interactive Virtual Sessions run from 11am to 12pm AEST from Monday August 30th to Friday September 3rd with an optional Live Q and A from 12 noon
Similar to a Netflix series – each daily ‘episode’ is just like a Professional Development event - leaving you better equipped to think, create and speak well in our current cultural moment.
Conversations will cover some of the most important issues including family, church, politics, technology and communication – all focussed on helping you improve your professional and ministry impact.
What are the benefits of attending the In-Person Portion of the CONNECT21 Experience? There is nothing like being together in community…and think about it: How many of the most important conversations you’ve ever had in life started with someone in a hallway or over a meal or coffee?
The In-Person Experience portion of CONNECT21 commences on Friday 3rd September from 9am through till 4.30pm - and includes being part of the Virtual broadcast (for those unable to be there on the Gold Coast) experience from 11am till 12.30pm on the Friday. Importantly, the full day features exclusive content and guests that will not be available to those who only attend virtually.
During breaks you will have the opportunity to meet with CONNECT21 sponsors offering products and services designed to help you and your organisation be more effective in ministry.
From 6:30pm, enjoy the glitz and glamour of our Celebration Dinner at QT Gold Coast featuring a full banquet dinner and top rating entertainment from world class performers and speakers. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable achievements of your fellow CMAA community as we announce and congratulate the winners of both the 2020 and 2021 Excellence in Media and Arts Awards.
How many nights do I need to book on the Gold Coast? To attend CONNECT21 you will need to book at least one night’s accommodation on Friday September 3rd, as the day ends quite late with the Celebration Dinner.
However as the day begins at 9am, we highly recommend also staying the night before - Thursday September 2nd . This will relieve some pressure in arriving before 9am, helping you start fresh and bright for the full day ahead. This may also provide a time to reconnect and offer networking opportunities over dinner or breakfast. Or you may simply wish to take the chance to enjoy a pre-conference swim at the nearby beach.
For maximum convenience we suggest you stay on-site of the Conference at the QT Hotel Gold Coast. You may also like to extend your stay into the weekend for a recharge before heading back to apply all that you’ve gained during your CONNECT21 Experience.

Why is the In-Person Event on the Gold Coast? Each year delegates are asked at the end of CONNECT Conference where they would like to attend the event the following year. The response has consistently been a majority vote for the Gold Coast due to ease of travel, relatively low cost, and desirable location.
The QT Gold Coast was the location previously booked for the CONNECT20 Conference which was moved to a VIRTUAL Only Experience in June of 2020 due to COVID-19. Thankfully the Hotel has agreed to allow us to utilise our existing financial commitments for this year’s CONNECT21 Experience.
Will there be an Awards Night?A Celebration Dinner will be held on the evening of the In-Person experience on Friday September 3rd, commencing at 6:30pm. You will enjoy the glitz and glamour of our Celebration Dinner at QT Gold Coast featuring a banquet dinner and top rating entertainment from world class performers and speakers. This dinner will not only offer an epic finale to the In-Person CONNECT21 Experience, but allow you to celebrate the remarkable achievements of your fellow CMAA community as we announce and congratulate the winners of both the 2020 and 2021 Excellence in Media and Arts Awards.

What does the Theme ONE >< MANY mean? The CONNECT21 Experience is all about helping you and your team to Think well, Create well and Speak well into lives, society and culture. Our dream is to see 50% of the population engaged each month through our collective media reach by 2030.
This is why CONNECT21 is being designed as a catalyst that will help advance our individual and collective excellence, unity, reach and influence
It’s also why CONNECT21 is focused on coming together as ONE in order to reach MANY.
The inspiration for CONNECT21 is centred around the unity of “ONE” and the potential in all individuals to be multipliers and influencers. It aims to be a positive motivator as we breathe again, coming out from underneath a surprise pandemic, as we reach for the hope and opportunities that lie ahead.
The “greater-than and less-than signs” indicate the direction of influence, from one to many, and each dot represents the potential for a single idea to be multiplied.
What do you mean by Limited Tickets Available?Due to COVID Safety and the volatility of social distancing requirements, along with venue limitations for booking capacity, we can only guarantee entry to the first 130 tickets sold.
This means that if you are one of the first 130 ticket purchases, you will be able to attend the In-person event on Friday September 3rd along with the Celebration Dinner, even if the highest level of social distancing restrictions is enforced.
We’re constantly monitoring the safety protocols best for our attendees and determining how many tickets we can safely sell for the in-person event.
Current social distancing rules enable the venue to allow for additional ticket sales - up to a maximum of 290 people. However any tickets purchased after the first 130 tickets are sold will be subject to potential refunds, should full social distancing restrictions be enforced.
