The deadline for this requirement for Australian Company Directors has been extended by 2 weeks - do you have your ID?
The Australian Business Registry Services today announced that while technically the deadline would remain 30 November, it would not penalise anyone who applied for their director ID by 14 December. In effect, the announcement makes the new deadline 14 December, 2022.
As we mentioned in this article last year, if you are a Director of an organisation registered with ASIC or the ACNC, appointed on or before 31 October 2021 – you must apply for a Directors ID and provide it to your organisation by 30 November 2022.
If you have been appointed as a Director between 1 November 2022 and 4 April 2022 - you must have applied within 28 days of appointment.
From April 4, 2022 – Directors should have applied for a Director ID before appointment.

A director ID is a unique identifier that a director will apply for once and keep forever – which will help prevent the use of false or fraudulent director identities.
