A "one-in-500-year" flood disaster has devastated over 16 LGAs across NSW's Hunter and Mid North Coast.
Samaritan's Purse is mobilising in Taree—one of the hardest-hit towns-to assist with clean-up and recovery as roads reopen.
In this latest flooding disaster, so far:
- 4 lives have been lost
- There have been well over 600 rescues
- Over 50,000 residents have been left isolated
Samaritan's Purse have staff and volunteers departing for Taree this Saturday to be on the ground helping families to remove damaged contents to the kerb and kickstart the recovery process. These volunteers are also available for interviews, willing to share how they're putting their faith into action by offering hands-on help and hope to flood-affected families.
The Disaster Relief Team are also in desperate need of more volunteers to step in and bring hope during these crucial weeks, whether for a day, a week, or more. Daniel Goh, says, "If people can’t volunteer to be there in person, they can still make a difference through remembering us in prayer or supporting us.'
