Operations Manager - CMAA, Seven Hills (Sydney)

This strategic role works closely with the CEO, lead key internal functions, helps shape new member initiatives, and drives systems that serve our national community.

(Part-Time, 4 Days/Week)

Location: Seven Hills, NSW (Hybrid – Remote considered for the right candidate)
Term: Initial 12-month contract (with strong intent to renew)
Start Date: August/September 2025
FTE Salary Guide: $110,000 – $130,000 (pro-rata to 0.8 FTE) + superannuation as required by law

Christian Media & Arts Australia (CMAA) is the peak industry body for faith-based media and the creative arts. We exist to amplify the Christian voice in Australian and New Zealand culture by supporting and equipping our members in media and ministry.

Our broadcast media members reach over 2 million Australians each week and over 500,000 in New Zealand. Add to that our members working in television, podcasting, gaming, music, publishing and other creative media arts, and the combined audience is more than 3.5 million people weekly.

As our work expands, we are seeking a dynamic, self-starting Operations Manager to join our team. This newly created role reflects the growth of the organisation and our commitment to operational excellence, sector support, and purpose-driven leadership.

This is a strategic role with significant autonomy. You’ll work closely with the CEO, lead key internal functions, help shape new member initiatives, support our advocacy and grant work, and drive systems and event delivery that serve our national community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing operations and improving internal systems (CRM, digital workflows, AI tools)
  • Supporting the CEO with calendar, project tracking, internal comms, and Board engagement
  • Managing budgets for projects and events, and supporting grant budgeting and acquittals
  • Coordinating major events including the CONNECT Media Conference, leadership gatherings, and retreats
  • Supervising an Event & Admin Assistant or contractor
  • Leading CMAA’s grant services and new member revenue development projects
  • Supporting policy research and coordinating sector advocacy groups
  • Working collaboratively with the Partnerships Lead and Member Communications Manager

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven ability to work independently, make key decisions, and drive organisational change
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Infoodle preferred) and confidence using AI tools
  • Strong budgeting, financial administration, and event/project coordination skills
  • Knowledge of tools such as Trello, Jotform, Humanitix, Google Suite, Canva, Mailchimp
  • A track record in cross-team collaboration and leading operational improvements
  • A clear commitment to the mission and values of CMAA, and a heart for serving Christian media, media arts and the broader Church

Working Conditions:

  • 4 days/week (0.8 FTE) with hybrid flexibility
  • Ideally based in Sydney with 2 in-office days (remote considered for the right person)
  • Some interstate and occasional international travel required
  • Reports directly to the CEO
