ARTIST PROFILE - JSP

Husband and Wife Duo, James and Sarah Petterson, bring restoration through their faith-fueled music.

For both James and Sarah, music has been a lifelong refuge—where solace, meaning, and healing unfold. From early years spent immersed in melody, this Canberra-based couple has carried that passion into a mission far deeper than sound: expressing truth, vulnerability, and the unshakeable hope they’ve found in God. James shares simply that, “Music is who we are... it has been the place we have turned to find solace, to find meaning, to find comfort and to find peace. It allowed us to find a purpose and to express ourselves artistically.”

From Wounds to Worship

Known collectively as JSP, the Pettersons are not just musicians—they’re storytellers of survival. Their debut album, produced by Josiah Prince (Kutless, Fireflight, Disciple), is a sonic reflection of the pain they’ve walked through and the restoration they've found. Synth-strung, raw, and redemptive, their faith-based rock dares to enter the depths of brokenness in order to bring light.

Less than two years ago, they didn’t think music would ever be part of their lives again. But today, through divine detours and unexpected doors, JSP stands as a testimony that healing is possible—and that calling always finds its way back.

What Sets JSP Apart

  • Authentic Sound: Original music crafted in a style that's purely their own—uncompromisingly real and soul-baring.
  • Message Over Industry: Their passion isn’t fame; it’s the power of their testimony.
  • Heart for Australia: They champion the expansion of Christian music that tells both the good and gritty parts of the faith journey, through diverse musical styles.

Making a Difference Across the Nation

JSP’s music speaks to the unheard, the unhealed, and the unseen. Their songs address topics often untouched in mainstream Christian music—grief, trauma, disillusionment—and invite listeners to feel deeply and heal freely.

Their vision is clear:
“It’s OK not to be OK. You are not alone. And there’s nothing you can do that will make you not good enough for God.”

Through their art, they offer sanctuary for those hurt by Christian communities and remind them of the true heartbeat of Christianity: unconditional love and redemption.
