Life FM’s community has done it again, and this year they’ve done it bigger than ever before.
In the fifth year of the Lunchbox Legends campaign, Life FM set an ambitious goal: collect 1,000 lunchboxes to support local children doing it tough. Thanks to the incredible generosity of listeners across Adelaide, that goal wasn’t just reached. It was surpassed in spectacular fashion.
A total of 1,402 lunchboxes were donated.
That’s more than double the previous largest year.
Each one represents something powerful: care, dignity, and practical support for a child in need.
A Simple Idea That Makes a Big Difference
On January 2nd, 2026, Life FM invited listeners to grab an extra lunchbox, or two, while shopping and drop it off at the station in Hendon or at collection points around Adelaide.
What followed was an overwhelming response from the Life FM family.
The goal of Lunchbox Legends is simple but deeply important. It helps address the ongoing challenge many families face in providing nutritious meals for their children. By ensuring every child has their own lunchbox, the team at Cos We Care can fill them daily with healthy, satisfying food that supports students’ wellbeing and learning.
As Ann Cooper, Founder of Cos We Care, beautifully said:

This year, a lot of people did their bit.
Reaching Schools Across Adelaide and Beyond
The 1,402 donated lunchboxes will now be distributed to schools throughout Adelaide’s Northern Suburbs and into the Riverland.
Cos We Care is also supporting children finishing kindergarten, ensuring they start school with their very own lunchbox, along with the promise of a nutritious lunch each day.
It’s about more than food.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about belonging.
It’s about giving kids the best possible start.
