But we want to encourage you to lift your eyes and remember this: God is faithful, and He will provide.

As you invite others to partner with your work, may you have fresh faith, courage, and energy for the season ahead. Cost of living and sustainability pressures on individuals are crucial in 2026, and a family-friendly style of market with food, coffee, local music and a kids’ play area including face painting and a Kinder Gym SA installation, plus the largest selection of op-shop vendors and sustainable resellers all in the one undercover location for one day only, was met with joy as an affordable family day out that Life FM was excited to bless the community with.

"Life FM is a community-funded station on a mission to spread hope throughout Adelaide. As CMAA continues its mission to advance Christian media and the arts, strengthen practitioners, and grow our collective influence for good, we are deepening our commitment to the spiritual wellbeing of our community through a renewed, sector-wide prayer strategy.

This strategy is simple, sustainable, and intentionally woven into the rhythms of creative and ministry life. It anchors our sector in Scripture, unity, and dependence on God as we create, lead, and serve.

A Shared Rhythm of Prayer

At the centre of the prayer strategy is a focus on a shared prayer theme, drawn directly from CMAA’s new suite of YouVersion devotional plans. These themes give our sector a common spiritual focus throughout the year. So far, we have published three devotional plans this year: Return & Realign, Hope for the Weary and Empowered to Create. In the coming months, we’ll be publishing devotional plans on rest, justice, unity, excellence, and Advent.

These themes give our community a common focus, shaping how we pray in our teams, workplaces, and in our personal prayer. It started at the grassroots level, with a small community station on the Mid North Coast and a group of people willing to back a vision. What followed was years of persistence, prayer, and plenty of practical hard work, laying foundations that would carry far beyond those early days.

From humble beginnings in a three-bedroom cottage to a national network now reaching hundreds of communities, Ian played a key role in helping Vision Christian Radio grow into a trusted voice of encouragement and hope. Along the way, he helped navigate seasons of both challenge and remarkable provision, with plenty of memorable moments when listeners rallied to support the ministry when it mattered most.

But Ian’s influence didn’t stop at Australia’s shores.

Through his leadership with UCB Asia Pacific, he invested in emerging Christian media ministries across the region, quietly strengthening local voices in places like Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Indonesia and beyond. His work helped equip others to share the same message of hope in their own communities- and most powerfully- in their own language.

People who’ve worked alongside Ian will tell you his leadership has always been grounded, steady, and deeply committed to the mission, never driven by the spotlight, but by purpose.

Phil Edwards, CEO of Vision Christian Media, reflected on Ian’s contribution, saying, “Ian's contribution to Christian media in this country and across our region has been nothing short of foundational. Ian has faithfully lived out a calling that has touched countless lives. We are deeply grateful for his leadership, his resilience, and the legacy he leaves with us.”

Reflecting on his time working in Christian media, Ian said, “It has been a privilege to serve alongside so many gifted and dedicated people over more than 30 years. Mandy and I are deeply thankful for every colleague, volunteer, supporter and partner who shared this journey – in Australia and right across the Asia Pacific. I have every confidence that Vision Christian Media will continue to support and strengthen Christian media ministries in our region, and we remain passionate about this mission.”

While this chapter comes to a close, Ian’s connection with the global UCB family continues through his involvement with UCB International in 2026.

More than 30 years on, the legacy isn’t just in transmitters, stations, or structures. Instead, it’s in the lives reached, the leaders trained and raised, and the message of hope that keeps being transmitted, day after day.

What Artemis II Taught Us About Awe

Before NASA's recent mission, I didn't realise how little I've really seen of the moon.

For something so familiar, so constant in the background of daily life, it's easily reduced to something flat, pale and almost forgettable. And yet, watching the images beamed back from Artemis II, I'm confronted by how easily we mistake the known for the fully understood.

The moon has always been there. It hasn't changed. But our ability to see it has.

It makes me wonder how often we live with the quiet assumption that everything can eventually be explained. That with enough knowledge, progress or discipline, the world will become something we can neatly understand and contain. And yet here we are, watching people who've seen further than most of humanity ever will, and their most truthful response seems not to be certainty, but awe.

Science can feel like the domain of specialists: astronauts are people trained to observe, to measure, to name and to explain with their own language, and infinite levels of precision and detail. And yet, as the Artemis II crew spoke about what they saw in orbit, their comments reached far beyond data alone.

These were people highly trained to make sense of complex and unfamiliar environments. And yet, when asked to describe the experience, there was a hesitation, as though language itself had reached its limit. It wasn't polished reflection or triumphant clarity, but something far more human.

Emotion. Silence. Wonder.

The idea that science and faith belong in separate places is a false divide we've inherited. The idea that science deals with facts, and faith deals with meaning. That one explains the world, while the other responds to it. But the Artemis II mission reminded us all that the two aren't so easily separated.

Science allows us to look closely, to investigate, to analyse. Science gives language to distance, shape, movement and matter so we can weigh and measure them. It helps us notice what we've missed. But for Christians, that deeper understanding can also draw us back to God.

Because if creation is this vast, this intricate, this unexpectedly beautiful even in places we previously assumed were empty, what does that say about the One who made it?

Thanks to photographic advancements, the new images of the moon aren't so much about discovering something new so much as learning how to see what's always been there. The moon didn't abruptly become more beautiful, but suddenly, we got to see it differently. What once looked distant, grey and flat, we can see is rich in colour, texture, variety and a quiet complexity. It had always been that way, but we couldn't see it yet.

So much of God’s creation is like that.

Not hidden from us, but waiting patiently for us to pay attention. Waiting for us to look a little closer, move a little slower, lean in and recognise the beauty that's always existed, even when it was hidden from our eyes.

There's something profoundly humbling about the idea that we can advance so far, build the technology, train the minds, develop the capacity to reach beyond our atmosphere, and still find ourselves in a position of discovery rather than completion.

We aren't arriving at the end of creation.
We're really only just beginning to notice it.

And that, in itself, is awe-inspiring.

Even now, in a world that can feel familiar and mapped and explained, there are glimpses of wonder breaking through. Small reminders of intelligence and creativity are woven into the fabric of existence. More evidence that we're not the authors of this story, but participants within it.

That is why awe matters.

Awe interrupts us. It humbles us. It refuses to let creation become merely useful, efficient or ordinary. It reminds us that the world isn't simply something to be studied, managed or consumed, but something to be received and appreciated as a gift.

The more we learn about this universe, the more we're led back to the One who formed it. Through colour, texture, variety, through vastness and intricate detail, we begin to understand not only what God has made, but something of who He is: His generosity, His creativity, His attention to beauty, His extravagant love.

Every detail, every discovery, every moment of wonder feels, in some quiet way, like an invitation. Not only to keep discovering what's out there, but to allow it to reshape what's in here. To let it slow us down. To let it humble us. To let it remind us that we're part of something vast and meaningful, even if we can't fully understand it yet.

Imagine if every new image, every discovery, every glimpse into the depth of creation led us toward wonder, humility and a deeper awareness of God.

Perhaps our eyes are still learning how to see.

Not just what is out there, but what has been here all along. To notice it. To sit with it. To let it lead us, quietly and patiently, back to the One who spoke it into existence.

True Worship Beyond the Music

A devotional reflection from Werner Egger of Rhema 99.9

We’re grateful to share this devotional reflection from Werner Egger, General Manager of Rhema 99.9 in Port Macquarie, one of our member stations.

Werner has recently completed his book, Understanding Worship: Rediscovering Intimacy With God, and this

News

Annabel Weaver

A devotional reflection from Werner Egger of Rhema 99.9

We’re grateful to share this devotional reflection from Werner Egger, General Manager of Rhema 99.9 in Port Macquarie, one of our member stations.

Werner has recently completed his book, Understanding Worship: Rediscovering Intimacy With God, and this devotional draws from the heart of that work. His desire is to help believers rediscover worship not merely as music or a Sunday expression, but as a daily life of intimacy, surrender, and devotion to God.

As we share this reflection, we also want to celebrate Werner’s faithful work in Christian broadcasting, ministry, and service to the Body of Christ.

Worship is far more than a song, a moment in a service, or a quiet thought in our minds. The English word itself traces back to the old Anglo-Saxon weorthscipe — “worthness.” To worship is to recognise and respond to the incomparable worth of God. It is the acknowledgement that He alone is worthy of honour, devotion and loving surrender.

Throughout Scripture, the original Hebrew and Greek words used for worship paint a vivid picture. They describe bodily actions such as bowing low, lifting hands, falling prostrate, are some examples. Worship involves reverence and holy awe, but it also calls for action. It is not passive admiration; it is active engagement. The heart responds, the soul yields, and even the body joins in. True worship moves us.

This dynamic understanding challenges us. Worship cannot be reduced to a theological concept we simply agree with or a melody we enjoy. It is a lived response to who God is. When we see His worth, something within us shifts. We choose honour over indifference and devotion over distraction.

Importantly, worship is closely connected with service, yet it is not identical to it. Our acts of ministry flow from a heart that first bows before Him. Service without devotion becomes duty; devotion without expression becomes incomplete. But when reverence and action meet, our lives become a continual offering.

So today, consider: where is God inviting you to respond more fully to His worth? Perhaps it is in lifting your hands again in surrender, in bowing your heart in humility, or spending some intentional quiet time in His presence. Worship is not confined to a gathering — it is the ongoing rhythm of a life captivated by God.

As we grow in recognising His incomparable worth, our worship becomes deeper, freer, and more wholehearted. And in that place of active, loving response, we are transformed.

We congratulate Werner on the completion of Understanding Worship: Rediscovering Intimacy With God, and we honour the heart behind this resource: to encourage believers to draw nearer to God and worship Him in spirit and truth.

To learn more about Werner’s book, visit:
https://1wayupmedia.com/

Fifty percent of net proceeds from the book will go to anti-human trafficking charity Every Daughter Matters.

New National Survey Highlights the Real Impact of Christian Radio

We’re excited to share the completion of a major national survey that captures something many in our sector have known for a long time - Christian radio makes a real difference.

The 2025 Radio and You Survey, coordinated by CMAA and carried out with Compass Polling, brings together

News

Research

Annabel Weaver

We’re excited to share the completion of a major national survey that captures something many in our sector have known for a long time - Christian radio makes a real difference.

The 2025 Radio and You Survey, coordinated by CMAA and carried out with Compass Polling, brings together insights from listeners, as well as employees, volunteers and sponsors.
