Samaritan’s Purse provides emergency relief and development assistance to suffering people around the world and in times of natural disaster locally. Samaritan’s Purse is meeting the physical needs of victims of war, famine, natural disaster, poverty and disease. Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse collects over 200,000 gift filled shoeboxes each year for children in developing countries, demonstrating God’s love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association was founded in 1950 by the Reverend Billy Graham. The organisation’s ministry engages in numerous evangelistic activities with the purpose of demonstrating God's love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through well- developed evangelism and discipleship programs.
The Office Manager/Executive Assistant role for Samaritan’s Purse and Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is a Sydney based role and is part of the Executive and Senior Management team for these two global Christian not for profit organisations. The position is permanent full-time. The organisation recognises flexible working locations, subject to work requirements. Salary, including a non-cash benefit, is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant/Office Manager is responsible for providing high level administrative assistance and with a passion to serve and support others to ensure a smooth-running office environment. We are looking for a highly organised and professional individual who demonstrates strong initiative and problem-solving skills. We require an excellent communicator who enjoys working independently as well as contributing collaboratively. The role is more than just an administrative professional – they are a trusted partner in ministry, a steward of the mission and a servant leader. The person will have a mission driven mindset and see their role as working for the Kingdom of God and not just a job.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative assistance to the Executive Director and the senior management team, calendar management, communication and reports as required for the effective functioning of the organisations’ activities.
- Managing the office, including organising company events, meetings, daily devotions roster, team lunches, travel bookings, overseeing suppliers and contractors who visit the office.
- Have a good working knowledge of organisational operations, to assist with short and long-term planning, to assemble papers for meetings, including board meetings, prepare minutes of senior management meetings, monitor and follow up actions as appropriate in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills to enable dealing wisely with the members of all internal (national) and external (International HQ) stakeholders and ministry departments and have solution-focus when challenges arise.

Essential:
- Demonstrate how your Christian values align with the ministries’ vision and Statement of Faith, have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for service.
- At least 5 years of executive administration experience
- Experience in project or event management
- Integrity & Confidentiality: Protect donor, leadership and organisational information
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
o Represents the voice and heart of leadership in all forms of communication
o Communicate with grace, wisdom and clarity in all engagements
o Bridges gaps between teams, departments and external stakeholders - Flexibility: Adapt quickly to fit with changing conditions, tasks, responsibilities, or people.
- High level proficient computer literacy
- Strong report writing skills with experience in developing actionable plans.
Desirable:
- Experience in non-profit or Christian ministry organisations
- Qualifications in project, HR or event management
