Kim Wilkinson, Member Connections & Communications Manager
As CMAA's Member Connections & Communications Manager, Kim oversees CMAA’s communications and enjoys connecting you with the range of services we provide.
What drew you to this role at CMAA?
Being a Christian in the media industry for over 25 years, I love getting the opportunity to witness the impact of media and arts communicating the gospel in my country. To be part of empowering our members to amplify that impact, and accelerating their reach and influence, is an absolute blessing and an honour.
What's something unexpected you’ve learnt working in the Christian Media & Arts sector?
How willing our organisations are to help each other – this does not happen in the commercial world – even amongst stations owned by the same company! But to see independent organisations willing to share their resources and skills to help another, is an incredible witness of their servant hearts and belief that we are all working towards the one mission.
If you could host a podcast, on any topic you like, what would it be about?
Serious answer: Marriage, and in particular navigating blended families in a Christian context.
Fun Answer: A show that discusses 80s movies!
What are you currently reading?
Waxing On: The Karate Kid and Me by Ralph Macchio.
…listening to?
I’m a BIG lover of music, so it will change daily, and I love jumping on my Spotify Release Radar list each week… however my favourite artist this year is Ryan Ellis – would love to hear more of him on Christian Radio (hint hint).
…watching?
Cobra Kai – Season 5 (okay, so there maybe a bit of a pattern here…)
What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?
My husband and I were born in the same hospital in the same year, and throughout our lives were in the same place at the same time, but didn’t actually meet each other until we were 34 years old.
What’s something you still want to tick off your bucket list?
I would love to walk The Camino de Santiago (the Way of St James), and experience a white Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere.
