Jen Smit - Events Director

Jen has recently joined the CMAA team as Events Director to take on the planning and logistics of the CONNECT Conference. Jen has worked in the event space for a considerable time and we are excited to have her on board.

What drew you to this role at CMAA?

In God's timing, He opened the path to this opportunity. Events are my passion and something that I have always thrived on.

What's something unexpected you’ve learnt working in the Christian Media & Arts sector?

The incredible talent that exists within the sector - both the upfront behind the microphone and the people in front of the microphone.

If you could host a podcast on any topic you like, what would it be about?

People who have successfully transitioned from one career to a completely different one. For example I met a woman recently who runs a clothing exchange store - prior to that she was a social worker.

What are you currently reading?  

When I have spare time (not often), The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris and most recently was given a copy of Enriched by John Sikkema

Whatever country music my husband is currently learning on his acoustic guitar.

…watching?

Just finished watching the Residence on Netflix so I'm on the lookout for another good series.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?

I auditioned for the Victorian College of the Arts many years ago with a view to becoming a professional dancer - obviously God had other ideas.

What’s something you still want to tick off your bucket list?

Visiting Canada and New Zealand
