A Growing Opportunity for Christian Music

You can help steward a new vision for Christian Music in our nation

Across our nation, something is stirring.

Christian artists are emerging, churches are engaging with home-grown worship in deeper ways and Christian media is amplifying stories and giving artists platforms.

People are showing up and events are selling out.

At Worth Worship with Matt Redman, demand exceeded capacity and the waiting list had to be stopped at 300. At One Sydney, more than 5,000 believers gathered to worship together as one Church.

In recent years, more than 60,000 people have shown up at Christian music initiatives connected with CMAA and our partners.

The opportunity is real. Yet this is about far more than concerts, events or ticket sales.

I keep coming back to the same verse in Isaiah 43:19:

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now is springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland”

We are convinced: God is doing something new.

And we need to have the ears to listen and the courage to respond.

Why This Matters

Music has always played a unique role in the life of the Church.

It strengthens faith. It tells stories of hope. It gives language to worship and it reaches people who may never otherwise engage with the Gospel.

Across our nation, we are seeing growing opportunities for artists, churches, schools, ministries and Christian media to work together more intentionally.

The question is simple:

How do we steward this opportunity well?

The First Step

Prayer is always the fist step.  We are praying and seeking guidance to plan for the development of a new, unified Christian Music Vision and Strategy.

Not because we want to create another activity, initiative or program.

But because we want to listen carefully to what God is already doing and explore how it might be strengthened and supported.

As a ministry serving Christian media, artists, churches and ministry partners across our nation, CMAA is uniquely placed to convene this conversation and help shape it with care.

Together with artists, church leaders, educators, media organisations and ministry partners we will explore:

  • How artists can flourish.
  • How emerging voices can be developed.
  • How churches, schools, media and ministries can collaborate more effectively.
  • How Christian music can continue strengthening the Church and sharing the hope of Jesus.

The first phase of this work will cost $30,000.

This is not about funding another document.

It is about helping CMAA listen, gather, discern and plan well so that Christian music can flourish for years to come.
