We’re looking for a creative and energetic Digital Content Coordinator to join our team and help continue to grow Sonshine’s impact across digital and visual platforms.
Position Purpose
Sonshine is Perth’s family-friendly community radio station, reaching over 314,000 listeners each month along with more than 240,000 people monthly via our online channels.
The Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for developing engaging and interactive content across Sonshine’s digital and visual channels. You will deliver digital creative activities that support Sonshine’s vision and strategy, ensuring all outward-facing content reflects our high standards, brand and values.
This role covers content creation for social media, websites, blogs, videos, podcasts, publications, and emerging platforms. You will also monitor analytics, SEO, SEM, and provide performance reports while supporting professional development within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with Sonshine’s strategy and vision.
- Create compelling content across digital platforms, including social media posts, video, podcasts, blogs, and publications.
- Monitor engagement metrics, SEO, SEM, and analytics; provide regular reports to management.
- Ensure all digital and visual content meets high standards, reflecting Sonshine’s values and branding.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and partners to produce content that engages the WA community.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and platforms, and make recommendations to improve content strategy.
- Design graphics, layouts, logos, and illustrations for online and offline communications using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Support and mentor team members in improving creative content standards.
Qualifications
A Degree/Certificate in marketing, communications, digital media, or social media, and / or 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role.
Essential Competencies
- Creative thinking with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience creating digital content in a customer-focused environment.
- High-level digital marketing skills, including SEO, SEM, analytics, and campaign management.
- Strong skills in creative software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines. We use Trello to manage our tasks – experience with this or similar Kanaban style work management systems will be highly beneficial.
- Understand and support Sonshine’s vision and mission, and have the ability to communicate it authentically.
- Experience in graphic design.
- Experience in public relations and animation would be an advantage.
