A New Chapter: Celebrating RISE 96.5

We are so excited for our members at 96five - now RISE 96.5 - as they step into a bold new chapter in their story.

More than 50 years ago, a small group of Christians gathered, dreaming about what Christian radio in Brisbane could be. Almost three decades ago, that dream took shape as a station with a number for a name, a logo frozen in time, and a home it didn’t yet own - but with a vision that was alive and growing.

Since then?
Millions of lives impacted, countless stories of hope shared, and a mission that has never wavered. Now, that story takes its next step forward.

RISE 96.5 comes to life.

As CEO Phillip Randall shares, this isn’t about starting something new - it’s about faithfully continuing what Brisbane already knows and loves:

“This is not the launch of a new station, but the next chapter of the one Brisbane already knows and loves. RISE speaks to hope, resilience and faith. It reflects what we see God doing in people’s lives every day, and what we’re called to nurture through media and our relationship with Brisbane. Our heart hasn’t changed. Rise 96.5 exists to engage people with experiences of God’s love — and this name gives us language that clearly expresses who we are and why we’re here.”

Why RISE?

The name RISE captures everything this station has always stood for - and where it’s headed next. It’s positive, aspirational and deeply meaningful, holding physical, mental, cultural and spiritual significance all at once. It speaks of movement, renewal, courage and hope.

RISE is both personal and communal.
Grounded in God’s story, yet open and accessible to people from every walk of life.
A call to action. A sense of momentum. A word that tells the story clearly and beautifully.

As RISE 96.5 takes this big step - honouring a long history while embracing the future - we invite our community to stand with them.
