The Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program has launched Pack a Shoebox Online for the first time ever in Australia.
This exciting innovation provides an opportunity for Australians to pack gift- filled shoeboxes for children in need without leaving home.
People who choose this online option can decide whether they want to pack for boys or girls. After that, they can choose the age range: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Then, based on all those choices, Samaritan’s Purse will pack great age and gender appropriate gift items into each box.
Donors can also write a heartfelt letter to personalise their boxes for the child receiving each gift.
“We hear from children and their families who receive the shoeboxes how meaningful the gifts and personal messages are,” said Dave Ingram, executive director of Samaritan’s Purse Australia. “They share how the messages and the gifts gave them hope and reminded them they were not forgotten – that someone is thinking about them and praying for them.”
This is an exciting opportunity launching in Australia for the first time. The Operation Christmas Child team created Pack a Shoebox Online as a convenient and personal way for donors to continue packing shoebox gifts and sharing God's love with children around the world even during these unprecedented days.
