96five: A New Home Built on Faith, Hope, and Community
“This first-ever permanent home for Brisbane’s 96five, 50 years in the making, is so much more than bricks and mortar. It’s a purpose-built creative hub from which hope springs forth in greater abundance – tens of thousands of people each day being reminded that there is a God who is madly in love with them and who has a purpose for them to flourish.”
These heartfelt words from 96five’s General Manager, Arthur, captured the spirit of the afternoon as staff, key supporters, and project participants gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the station’s newly purchased and renovated building in Brisbane. It was a moment rich in gratitude, reflection, and undeniable joy.
The journey to this milestone has been nothing short of extraordinary. Spanning nearly four years from the initial search for a permanent home - to finally moving in, the process has been underpinned by faith and a deep sense of purpose. More than 900 generous supporters donated over $848,000 towards the renovation of the building - an amount raised entirely on top of the purchase itself.
Throughout the build and refurbishment phase, over 20 local companies, businesses, and statutory authorities contributed their skills, labour, and expertise. “God remains faithful in supplying and providing ‘every skilled worker’ for His purposes,” Arthur reflected. “And He remains utterly dependable in providing the financial resources to support ‘every skilled worker’ for His purposes.”
That faithfulness was evident not only in the construction and fundraising but also in the unity and passion behind the project. From the engineers and designers to the volunteers, donors, and prayer warriors—every step has been marked by a shared vision: to create a space that could radiate God’s hope across Brisbane and beyond.
In late October 2024, the very first broadcast went live from the new premises—a historic and exciting moment for the entire team. It marked the beginning of a new era of ministry, within a space purposefully built, to serve the community with messages of faith, hope, and love. From humble beginnings, the station has grown into a household name in this Brisbane community, and now, for the first time in its history, it has a home to truly call its own.
As guests explored the new space during the grand opening celebration, there was an overwhelming sense of excitement and accomplishment. This space isn’t just for radio—it’s for storytelling, for worship, for creative collaboration, and for broadcasting the love of God to thousands of lives every single day.
Here’s to the next chapter in 96five’s story—one firmly planted in God’s promises and the faithful hearts of His people.
